On July 17th, Cabinet Members on Rother District Council voted to back a proposal off Old Lydd Road in Camber which could potentially see 100% affordable homes delivered on the site.
Speaking on the importance of this, Cllr Ruairi McCourt the Housing Portfolio Holder drew Members’ attentions to the desperate need for more affordable housing in the District, describing a situation in Icklesham where 12 new affordable homes were bid for by over 500 applicants. This helped to stress how any opportunity to build, deliver or enable extra affordable homes for local people should be encouraged.
More on this scheme will be coming forward at a later date. To read the full report, click here.
