October is Black History Month. A chance to focus on the often unheard, underrepresented stories of Black people and People of Colour (POC) throughout history. Black history is not just one of pain and suffering, but also of joy, of culture and of excellence in every field. From science to music to engineering to art, there are examples throughout history, many right here in the UK, of Black pioneers and visionaries.

and to take time this month to look back on the contributions of Black people and POC throughout the history of humankind. Perhaps you might even take a trip to Bexhill Museum or other museums and galleries nearby to explore Black history in a local context.
